Yesterday, Bipin Rawat traveled with his wife and 12 others in an Army Force helicopter which got crashed shortly after in Tamil Nadu. Chopper was just going to land in 10 more minutes as the destination wellington in the Nilgiri Hills. It as just 10 KM away from the accident place i.e Coonoor in Tamil Nadu.
They were on the way to the Defence Service Staff College in Wellington where he was to deliver a lecture. His wife, president of the Defence Wives Welfare Association, was accompanied with him along with members of the CDS staff
The report of the Army Force helicopter crash was around 12:20 PM. Bipin Rawat with his staff and his family members were present in the chopper at the time of the accident that took place in Coonoor.
With Bipin Rawat and his wife, 12 other officials including his Defence Assistant, Security Commandos, and Air Force Personnel. The Army Force helicopter which met with this accident was a Russian-made Mi-17 V5 Chopper.

Survivors :
The group Captain Varun Singh was the only one who survived this crash. He is being treated for severe burns at the military hospital in Wellington and was shifted to Bengaluru this morning.
According to Rajnath Singh Group Caption Varun Singh is on life support. His father said that his son is a fighter and will come back victorious.
Eye Witnessed :
A witness at the site of the crash claims on Wednesday that he saw general Bipin Rawat and his alive moments. The witness was shiv Kumar a contractor who was visiting his brother and he works in a tea estate when this accident took place at the site.
He said that he saw the chopper into flames and falling he and others then rushed to the site.Shiv Kumar in his statements included that he saw three bodies falling out of which one was alive and asking for water they pulled out the official in a bed sheet took away from the rescuer.
Three hours later he told them that the man they pulled out and spoke was Bipin Rawat. Shiv Kumar in tears said that he couldn’t believe that this man did so much for the country and could not even get water.
