Mouthwatering momos are a favorite delicacy for many. Momos are relative to the northeast parts of India. It has now spread over the nation and is loved by all age groups. They are versatile with all sorts of different fillings and can be eaten as a snack or even for the main course. So here we’ve got for you Soya and paneer momos.

Here are a few Soya and paneer momos recipes:

1.PANEER MOMO’S:

Paneer is famous it is for its relishing taste buds and its versatility. It is a parcel of protein and nutrients. Here is a way to inculcate them in your favorite momo’s:

INGREDIENTS:

3 tsp oil

3 clove garlic, finely chopped

1-inch ginger, finely chopped

1 chili, finely chopped

4 tbsp. spring onion, chopped

1 onion, finely chopped

1 cup cabbage, finely chopped

2 tbsp. capsicum, chopped

1 cup paneer/cottage cheese grated

1 tsp pepper, crushed

½ tsp salt

1½ cup Maida / plain flour

½ tsp salt

1 tsp oil

Water, for kneading

PROCEDURE:

  1. To make the filling, in a pan pour some oil and let it heat.
  2. Add the garlic and ginger to the oil once it has heated adequately.
  3. Let it sizzle, then add spring onion and onion and sauté till the onions turn transparent.
  4. Add cabbage and other veggies that you wish to add into the pan, sauté and cook till the cabbage has shrunk and lasted all its water.
  5. Add paneer, salt, and pepper to the mixture and mix well. Make sure you don’t mash the mixture.
  6. Add some more spring onions and sauté.
  7. Once done let it cool for some time.
  8. For the dough, in a bowl take the all-purpose flour and add salt, and water and knead into a soft dough with good consistency.
  9. Let the dough rest for 20 mins for the best results.
  10. Pinch the dough and make small dough balls.
  11. Roll the balls into small rotis with the help of some dry flour.
  12. You can cut them into small circles or make puri like structure.
  13. Add the mixture in the middle of the rolled dough, make sure you fill the right amount.
  14. With the help of very little water stick the edges together to form a momo according to your liking.
  15. Brush the base of the steamer with butter or oil and place the momos in it.
  16. Steam for about 15-20mins. You can steam more or less as per the need of the momos.

Serve hot with some chutney and sauce.

2. SOYA MOMOS:

Soybean momos are a healthy option for fillings in momos.

They are delicious and add a quirk to the usual momo filings.

INGREDIENTS:

Soy nuggets = 2 cups

Salt = as per taste

Capsicum = 1, finely chopped

Onion = 1/4 cup, finely chopped

Garlic = 1 tsp, finely chopped

Black pepper powder = 1 tsp

Soy sauce = 1 tsp

Vinegar = 1 tsp

Oil = 2 tsp

All-purpose flour/fine flour = 2 cups

Salt = as per taste

Water = as required for kneading the dough

PROCEDURE:

  1. In a bowl, add some soybean and soak them in water for about an hour.
  2. Shift the soybeans into another vessel and squeeze out the water from it.
  3. Grind the soybean into granules.
  4. Add soy sauce, black pepper, salt, and vinegar and mix well
  5. Cook the mixture for 2 minutes and then keep to col aside.
  6. For the dough, in a bowl take the all-purpose flour and add salt, and water and knead into a soft dough with good consistency.
  7. Let the dough rest for 20 mins for the best results.
  8. Pinch the dough and make small dough balls.
